I had gone on a quest a few months back to get a GBA SP clone, but I ended up getting an AGS-101 with an EZ Flash IV, as I wanted buttons with a good action to them. Every clone I saw/read had some minor difference from the original hardware - buttons, aspect ratio, emulation, etc so I went with original hardware.

The battery does not have the 2 plastic teeth that the stock battery has but this is not an issue at all with the battery as it fits snugly in the battery compartment and the pressure of the spring contacts and the cover help it stay in place just fine with the AGS-001 GBA SP. The AGS-101 SP and After Market Shells might need a shim to make
While it did come with the AGS-101 Sticker on the bottom, and the screen is that of a AGS-101, the shell of the GBA I bought is extremely scratched up and worn in. The screen is perfect and clear, and it works wonderfully, the case is scratched and marred on all sides and corners.
I got a Gameboy Advance SP AGS 101 for a good priceIs there a way to tell if it’s truly a 101 vs a re-shell. Obviously when I get it I should be able to tell by looking at the screen, but I haven’t had one before so I’m not even sure I will be able to tell.

GBA SP AGS-101 turns off randomly. I have an AGS-101 that turns itself off randomly from time to time. I have replaced the battery, but it seems to not have helped. The power switch can be turned off without actually switching it off by applying a little pressure (possibly related)?
