Hi, I imagine this topic has been extensively discussed, but here goes: My Ford Kuga Trend 2013 has done just under 110,000km. I took it to Ford for a minor service and DPF cleanout. This cost around $1500. When I went to collect the car, they came out and said it had totally broken down in the driveway as they were taking it to the secure carpark.
Hi all, got a new kuga titanium plus. After only 1200km (800miles) the outside air temperature sensor reports a wide range of temperatures. As an example thismorning it was -19C and 5 minutes into journey it was 40C. Actual temp is 12C. And it jumps back to -15C back to 24C over the course of a few minutes. Now this is not a piece of eye candy.

I have a Ford Kuga with a 2.0 litre diesel engine. I bought the car from new at a Ford Dealership. Have had the car serviced annually at same dealership. When the car was 3 yrs 5 mths old (5 months out of warranty) the engine failed - the car needs a new engine at a cost of over £7000. The cause of engine failure is not known. But good cleaning require to remove the EGR and and the EGR cooler. Also to remove the intake manifold ( manifold is joined body with the valve cover) 100% the manifold is at least 20-30% obstructed. Also the head ports are obstructed and you may have significant effect on the power output.

Uncommon for failure on MK2 but hey, Im currently riding the “dpfs suck ass” train. vapouriser - 1877097. cant find a part number for the sensor, i think its more of a vacuum line that the ecu detects the difference in line pressure. i might be wrong.

The DPF is there for a reason and removing it is not the best option. Dpf problems. the engine management light came on. So I plugged it in to a diagnostics and found 4 faults; p2452- particle filter differential pressure sensor circute- faulty signal. p2463- diesal particulate filter soot accumulates- no symptom. i then hen did a regeneration and the matchine said it was all successful but moments later 2 fault
Regular cleaning however will prevent these issues, saving you both the inconvenience of diagnosing a breakdown and the cost of a replacement DPF which may be in the £1000’s. DPF Cleaning FAQ’s Can I remove my DPF and be done with it?

Once delivered the part is very very simple to fit. It is located attached to the battery housing on the back right of the engine bay and its is just a case of using a Torx bit to undo the screw (very cheap to buy). Loosen the screws on the 2x jubilee clips holding on two pipes. Unclip the wiring harness. UMMkL.
